A number of technology giants are doing research on IOT to find how it can ease the human life. Simply it is the connection of devices over the internet. According to Wikipedia “The internet of things (IoT) is the internetworking of physical devices, vehicles, buildings and other items—embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity that enable these objects to collect and exchange data.”
In this concept, every physical device will have an Internet Protocol (IP) address and they can exchange information with others interconnected device. Here question may arise “How can we manage IP address for all devices?? Talking about IPV4 address we can create only four billion addresses which are insufficient for the world. So the world is shifting from IPV4 to IPV6 which has more than enough IP addresses to connect physical devices in the earth. IOT can be regarded as the wide version of the machine to machine communications. Your Car, Refrigerator, Washing machine , Pressure Cooker etc will have a unique IP address and they will sense the information using existing technology and communicate each other.
